Epazote, also called Wormseed or Jesuit’s Tea, has deep roots in both folk herbalism and spiritual work. In Hoodoo and Latin American traditions, it is often used for cleansing, protection, and breaking harmful conditions. Its sharp, pungent energy is believed to drive away evil spirits, baneful magic, and crossed conditions that cling stubbornly.
In traditional herbal medicine, Epazote has been valued for its role as a digestive aid and vermifuge (used historically to expel intestinal worms). It has also been brewed as a tea or used in cooking in Mexico and Central America, where its distinct flavor seasons beans and other staple foods.
