The Rose of Jericho, also called the Resurrection Plant, is a sacred curio in Hoodoo, Latin American, and Catholic folk traditions. This remarkable plant appears dry and lifeless, but when placed in water, it unfurls and comes back to life — symbolizing renewal, rebirth, and miraculous blessings.
In Hoodoo and rootwork, it is kept in the home as a powerful protection and prosperity charm. Its water is sprinkled to bless the house, wash the doorway, or anoint the body for luck, success, and spiritual cleansing. Rootworkers also use Rose of Jericho in money-drawing work, uncrossing, and as a living altar piece to call in abundance and ward off evil.
